The state's top-performing public eSchool accredited by Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement
Maumee, OH – The Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA), the state's top-performing statewide eSchool, was recently awarded accreditation by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).
CITA awards accreditation to eligible education providers that meet its standards and requirements. The CITA accreditation process validates the school's quality through on-site reviews conducted by trained professional evaluators. Accreditation also validates the diploma eligibility and facilitates the transfer of credit to universities and other schools worldwide.
CITA certification recognizes that "Ohio Virtual Academy has demonstrated to the international academic community that it effectively advances the quality of the educational experiences it provides for its students and is in compliance with the standards of the Commission."
To earn accreditation from North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, a school must demonstrate high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous school improvement plan focused on increasing student performance. NAS CASI accreditation provides the Ohio Virtual Academy an external mark of quality and a measurement of progress focused on raising student academic achievement.
"The students, parents, teachers, support staff, and administration of Ohio Virtual Academy are proud and excited that our school is accredited by two leading organizations in CITA and NAS CASI," said Susan Stagner, Ohio Virtual Academy Head of School. "These accreditations demonstrate our school's commitment to excellence, high quality academic programs, and student success."
