HERNDON, Va., Apr 08, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --K12 Inc. (NYSE:LRN) announced today that Harry T. Hawks is the company's
new Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Hawks will
join the company in early May.
Mr. Hawks, 56, is an experienced corporate executive and financial
expert. He joins K12 following a distinguished career in the broadcast
media industry, most recently serving as Executive Vice-President and
Chief Financial Officer at Hearst Television Inc., formerly known as
Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc.

Mr. Hawks also has hands-on experience in the K-12 education space. He
was instrumental in founding a new K-8 school and helping it grow,
establish its financial systems, and obtain accreditation.

Under Mr. Hawks' leadership, Hearst Television has become one of the
most successful and well-regarded broadcast companies. In his role as
EVP and CFO, Mr. Hawks was responsible for corporate development,
including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic
alliances. He also oversaw the company's finance, accounting, SEC
compliance, and investor relations.
Prior to his roles at Hearst, Mr. Hawks was a founder of Argyle
Television which became a publicly-traded company on NASDAQ in 1995. In
1997, Argyle merged with Hearst Broadcasting to become Hearst-Argyle
Television, Inc. where it transferred to the New York Stock Exchange
under the symbol "HTV." Upon completion of a tender offer by Hearst
Corporation for HTV, Mr. Hawks led the merger assimilation.
Prior to his 18-year career in the broadcast industry, Mr. Hawks held
various positions in the fields of corporate finance, venture capital,
and investment banking. He holds a BS and MBA from Louisiana State
University in Baton Rouge.
