K12 Inc. Celebrates Second Annual Digital Learning Day

February 6, 2013
Digital Learning Company Honors Students, Teachers, and Administrators Who are Leading the Transformation to Individualized Learning

HERNDON, Va., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- K12 Inc. is celebrating the second annual National Digital Learning Day by hosting a series of events across the country to recognize teachers, students and educators who are breaking new ground by individualizing education through digital learning. Throughout the month, K12 is hosting seminars for administrators, teachers and students in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and participating in multiple regional industry events in seven states.

In addition, K12 is hosting a series of eight webinars to provide school and district leaders with new ideas and best practices for using digital learning to meet the needs of more students, including those who need remediation, those who want additional challenges such as AP® courses or world languages, or for students who require homebound or alternative education.

Ron Packard, Founder and CEO of K12 Inc., said, "We're witnessing a paradigm shift where education can be now customized and delivered to the individual rather than the group, and where geographic boundaries are no longer barriers to accessing quality academic programs.  Digital learning is making this possible in ways we could not have imagined years ago."

Packard continued, "Innovative technology, powerful digital learning tools, and engaging curriculum are enabling this education transformation to occur.  It's moving forward at an exciting pace because of the many teachers and administrators in schools and districts across the U.S. who are taking the lead, and often taking risks, in using new technologies to improve the learning experience for every child.  K12 Inc. is proud to work with many of these leaders in education, and we honor them on this Digital Learning Day."

Digital Learning Day is a national awareness campaign celebrating innovative teachers and instructional methods spearheaded by the Alliance for Excellent Education. Learn more about Digital Learning Day at http://www.digitallearningday.org.
